Mauricio holds a degree in Economics from Unicamp and an MBA from Business School São Paulo (BSP). After a career in the financial sector in both Brazil and the United States, he moved with his family to New York in 2005 due to a professional opportunity for his wife. Over time, he became increasingly involved in the nonprofit sector, initially as a local volunteer and later as an advisor and fundraiser for BrazilFoundation. In 2021, he was hired by Gerando Falcões to structure the NGO’s international expansion.
After three years — during which he establshed the U.S. office (Gerando Falcões International) and raised approximately five million dollars — Mauricio stepped down to focus on personal philanthropy. Today, he serves as an advisor and mentor to four NGOs working in education and poverty alleviation: Ensina Brasil and Vozes das Periferias in São Paulo, Pensando Bem in Fortaleza, and Pisada do Sertão in Paraíba.
He also serves on the International Sustainability Committee of Ensina Brasil. Mauricio brings his enthusiasm and experience in doing good to Katu Brasil, with the goal of supporting NGOs and potential philanthropists on this unique journey.
